Largo, Maryland – The Prince George’s County Department of Social Services (DSS) is celebrating its 10th year of Health Insurance Open Enrollment under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Health insurance is provided by Maryland Health Connection (MHC), the state’s marketplace for health coverage. Open enrollment is November 1, 2022 through January 15, 2023, for coverage that begins January 2023. The City of Hyattsville is a “meta-focus” area this year that is targeted to reach the hard to reach. It is estimated that up to 50,000 County residents County-wide are eligible for health insurance but may be unaware. An expanded effort is underway to make the public aware of open enrollment.  Prince George’s County Health Connect, a program of the Department of Social Services, is one of eight Connector Entities (CEs) in the state, and is the lead service provider for outreach, education, and enrollment for Prince George’s County residents. Co-presented by the Prince George's County Memorial Library System.
