This year the Maryland STEM Festival runs from October 31 to November 12, 2017. The festival celebrates its third year with 450 events at 230 venues in 23 counties and Baltimore City.


The Library is participating by offering exciting STEM events: Submarine Science, Slime Time, Teen Hack-a-thon, Explore VR (Virtual Reality), Construction for Kids, Building a Galaxy with Code, Creepy Science and more! Click links for details and for more STEM-tastic adventures. 

Moreover, November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in which hundreds of thousands of participants will begin writing a 50,000-word novel by the November 30 deadline. Join one of the Library’s writers groups: Teen Writers Group (Laurel Branch), Writers Group (Laurel Branch), Writers Group (Accokeek Branch), With Pen in Hand (Bowie Branch) and celebrate National Novel Writing Month 2017 with us.
