Social change agent Dr. Gail Christopher, author of "Rx Racial Healing: A Guide to Embracing Our Humanity," shares how personal narratives build interpersonal connections that promote racial healing and inspire collective action for transforming our nation and world. Registration is encouraged but not required.

Dr. Gail Christopher is an award-winning social change agent with expertise in the social determinants of health and well-being and in related public policies. She is known for her pioneering work to infuse holistic health and diversity concepts into public sector programs and policy discourse. Dr. Christopher retired from her role as senior advisor and vice president at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, where she was the driving force behind the America Healing initiative and the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation effort. She became the executive director of the National Collaborative for Health Equity in 2019. Her 2022 book, "Rx Racial Healing: A Guide to Embracing Our Humanity," is framed by a personal narrative detailing her own understanding of the power of racism and the need for healing. It provides information and resources for facilitators to teach Rx Racial Healing in colleges, institutions, and communities.
The Prince George’s Community College (PGCC) Truth, Racial Healing, & Transformation Campus Center (TRHT) is one of 150 TRHT centers across the nation. It works with the PGCC campus community and county organizations to promote racial healing, create programs that transform narratives, provide a space for shared experiences, and catalyze efforts to identify and dismantle structural barriers with respect to equity.
