Get Connected with Affordable Home Internet

FCC suspends applications for discounted home internet

The Federal Communication Corporation (FCC) is no longer accepting new applications for participation in the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). Allocated funding for the program will run out in April, and Congress has not allocated additional funds to continue the program that 23 million Americans have come to rely on to afford home broadband.

Since July of 2023, the Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) has received ACP outreach grant funding to bring awareness to the program, and have helped 500 county residents enroll to receive the $30 monthly benefit.

We invite those affected by the imminent end of ACP to visit one of our 19 branch libraries and access the internet via your own device using our free WiFi, or by using one of our public computers.
