The Prince George's County Office of Human Rights and the Prince George's County Memorial Library System are excited to host a Community Conversation with Carmen Duran, the Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Division Manager with the Prince George's County Department of Family Services.

Carmen Duran previously served with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s, where she played a pivotal role in establishing the Human Trafficking and Elder Exploitation Units. These units not only addressed critical issues but also served as a model for other prosecutorial agencies, showcasing best practices in victim support, prevention, and accountability. During her tenure, Carmen collaborated with community partners to create innovative programs aimed at raising awareness, supporting victims, and preventing exploitation.
Carmen brings a unique blend of legal and healthcare expertise to her work. She holds a Juris master’s in healthcare law, a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, and is also a licensed nurse. This diverse background has been integral in shaping her ability to address complex issues involving vulnerable populations with compassion and precision.
