Community Preservation Day

Preserve your valuable documents, photos, and letters digitally at the library with the help of Maryland State archivists. Come and learn best practices for storage and preservation, scan up to three items for free, and consider sharing your digital copies for inclusion in the Archives' permanent electronic collection and PGCMLS's Digital Special collections repository.

Items must be 2-dimensional and smaller than 12 x 17 inches. We cannot accept 3-dimensional items, such as paintings, full books, toys, models, or other objects, at this event.

Examples of acceptable items include: letters, family trees, photographs, recipes, certificates, postcards, maps, newspaper clippings, sheet music, legal documents, and printed artwork or illustrations. This program is presented by Special Collections staff and Maryland State Archives.
