Basic Computer Skills for Beginners

Small Meeting RoomNew to using computers? Do you need a refresher? This beginner's course for adults will introduce you to some basic computer terminology and lead you through practice activities to help you develop your digital literacy skills. Most importantly, you will gain the confidence you need to make effective use of your computer.
After this 4-day course, participants will be able to:
- Identify basic computer components and operating system features
- Execute basic mouse techniques
- Perform basic keyboard strokes and functions
- Identify and navigate the features of the Desktop
- Open and exit software programs
- Identify and navigate the various toolbars of the Windows environment
- Create and save a document to the Desktop or to a flash drive (please bring your own flash drive)
Four-day series; Monday through Thursday from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Day 1: Monday, April 6th - Hardware & Mouse Skills Practice
Day 2: Tuesday, April 7th - Software & Keyboard Practice
Day 3: Wednesday, April 8th - File Management
Day 4: Thursday, April 9th - Internet & Email
