Craft and Create: Recreating “Day of the Dead” with Acrylic Paint

Large Meeting RoomIn celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this art class invites participants to explore the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos through the medium of acrylic painting. Led by Olympic Artist Jesse Raudales, students will recreate his piece “Day of the Dead” while learning about cultural symbolism, color theory, and painting techniques.
This program can accommodate 12 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

Internationally acclaimed artist Jesse Raudales is known for his original, powerful, and spiritual imagery. Based in North Hollywood, Jesse was one of the few artists selected from thousands to create a commemorative piece for the 2006 US Olympic Team, alongside Jane Seymour and Peter Maxx. His painting, Peace for the Children of the World, toured California, New York, and the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino, Italy.
Jesse was the first Latino artist from the USA chosen for the Olympics and has been honored by the NAACP, FBI, Warner Bros., and more. His work is featured in the homes of celebrities like Terrence Howard, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. He’s also designed logos for MC Hammer, James Brown, Martin Luther King III, Dwayne Wade, and the Miss USA Pageant.
