Celebrate the 6th Annual Festival of Cultures with Dot Hicks and Bill Simpson's dance workshop.
Get your body moving and have fun at the library! Join us for an exciting celebration of African American dance and music featuring DC Hand Dancing and DC Bop demonstrations by Dot Hicks, line dancing instructor, and her fiancé, Bill Simpson, an acclaimed Hand Dancing and DC Bop instructor.
Following the demonstrations, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in group line dancing and learn some fun, easy-to-follow steps. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced dancer, everyone is welcome to join us for this lively and engaging experience.
This fun-filled program will feature DC Hand Dancing, DC Bop, and line dancing set to a variety of African American music, celebrating the rich musical and cultural traditions that have inspired generations of dancers.
Come ready to learn, move, connect, and enjoy the rhythm!
