Join the Prince George's County Memorial Library System, the Prince George's County Office of Human Rights, and the EEOC in a special event celebrating the achievements of Asian American women in business for AAPI Heritage Month.

In this virtual program, national business leaders will share their paths to leadership and highlight their contributions at the local, national, and global levels. Gain valuable insights into the experiences of Asian American women in the business world by participating in this co-hosted event.

Emily Fong Mitchell is the President and General Manager of Ball Aluminum Cups. She previously held several leadership positions for Colgate-Palmolive, including General Manager, Personal Care North America;  Director, Philippines; Director, Haircare, Mexico; and more. In 2021, she was an awardee for Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business. She has served as Board Director for Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, is a member of Chief, a network for senior women leaders, and is a member of 108 Asian Marketers & More. Additionally, Ms. Mitchell mentors early and mid-career BIPOC professionals, is an Executive Sponsor of the Ball Asian Network, and a Community Group Leader for API Chiefs. She holds a BA in Asian Studies from Harvard University, a Master’s Certificate in International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS – Nanjing University, and an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Jennifer Li Dotson is a commissioner for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights as well as the Committee on the Status of Women and the Commission on Refugee and Immigrant Affairs.  Ms. Dotson has worked at the National Bureau of Asian Research, U.S.-China Business Council, the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and the U.S. Embassy in London. Her professional experience also includes serving with the National Kidney Foundation, American Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. She holds a BSc from Georgetown University, a MSc from the London School of Economics and speaks two dialects of Chinese. As a immigrant and first generation college graduate, she strives to leverage her lived experiences to amplify positive change in underrepresented communities by convening free virtual monthly BIPOC Affinity Groups and quarterly API Affinity Groups that aim to people of color “have conversations, lift voices, and share personal stories so that we don’t have to struggle alone in our work.”
