This borrowable kit includes items and activities designed to aid caregivers in engaging individuals with dementia or cognitive impairments — sparking memories, encouraging meaningful conversations, and promoting mental well-being.
Kits can be checked out for three (3) weeks with a library card and are limited to one (1) kit per person. Each kit contains curated, themed resources in a sturdy tote bag and survey sheet so customers can share their experiences with the kits.
The Stay Sharp at the Library: Reminiscence and Engagement kits are a collaboration between the Maryland Umbrella Group, Dementia Friendly America and Prince George’s County Memorial Library System. Councilmember Tim Adams, District 4, provided funding for these initial 15 kits.
