Senior citizens aged 65 and up can purchase a new Senior SmarTrip® card at any of five convenient library branches, as well as retail and WMATA Metro commuter stores. The bright yellow Senior SmarTrip® card for citizens age 65 and older enables seniors to get the discounted fare on Metrobus and Metrorail. The five branches that accept cash,
offer this service. To purchase this special card, you will need to show a valid government issued photo ID with proof of age. The Senior SmarTrip® card costs $2. This card has no monetary value.
