This traveling exhibit, generously loaned to PGCMLS by the Frances Perkins Center, comprises an informative 6-panel display highlighting the life and accomplishments of Frances Perkins. As Franklin D. Roosevelt's Secretary of Labor and the first woman to hold a cabinet position, Perkins played a pivotal role in shaping the New Deal era.
Credited with formulating policies that revitalized the national economy during one of its most severe crises, she is celebrated for her efforts in establishing the foundations of the modern middle class. Perkins's remarkable journey from modest beginnings in New England to becoming America's foremost advocate for industrial safety and workers' rights is a testament to her resilience and determination.
