In this best selling young adult fantasy novel, 17-year-old criminal prodigy Kaz is hired to pull off a dangerous and seemingly impossible high-profile prison break. He gathers a crew of talented outcasts and together they plan their heist and embark on an action-packed adventure. Kirkus Reviews calls "Six of Crows" a “Cracking page-turner with a multi ethnic band of misfits with differing sexual orientations who satisfyingly, believably jell into a family.” The novel has been praised for its depiction of disability since two of the novel’s narrators are disabled. The novel also received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, Voya, and School Library Journal. This book is the first in a duology and exists in the same world as Leigh Bardugo’s Shadow and Bone Trilogy, but can be enjoyed without reading the author’s other books.
