The UMD Environmental Finance Center is working with Bladensburg, Colmar Manor, Cottage CIty, and Edmonston to develop a Walkable Watershed Plan - a green infrastructure initiative addressing flooding, resilience, and connectivity. The effort has identified potential projects in each of the Port Towns to improve pedestrian and bike safety, reduce flooding, and enhance watershed health.
JOIN US to learn about the proposed projects and share your thoughts about:
New trail connections, linking neighborhoods to Anacostia and NE Branch Trails
New and improved crosswalks, including enhanced safety features
Flood mitigation and water quality features, such as rain gardens and tree plantings
Lighting, benches, shade, and other amenities to improve walkability
Pre-registration is not required, but is requested. A light meal (sandwiches, etc.) and refreshments will be served.
