STEM Fun: Yams v. Sweet Potatoes

Not all “yams” are the same! In this hands-on session, kids will explore the big differences between true yams—commonly eaten in many countries—and the sweet potatoes often called “yams” in the United States. Through observation and simple science activities, participants will compare textures, shapes, and origins to learn how these vegetables differ around the world. Try a taste of each as well!
