About our guests:
Kathryn Ferguson has been working to advance the rights of individuals impacted by violence in the State of MD for over 20 years. A former Crime Victim Specialist with the St. of MD Division of Parole and Probation, Ms. Ferguson would go on to develop critical initiatives, programs, and policies relative to gender-based violence through her work with the Prince George’s Co. Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She currently serves as the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center (DVSAC) Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator with The University of MD Medical System’s Capital Region Medical Center.

Maddy LaCure is the Prevention and Education Specialist at the Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA). Since September 2021, Maddy has led MCASA’s sexual violence prevention efforts and the coordination of two CDC-funded projects through the Rape Prevention and Education Program. This work focuses on promoting social norms change across Maryland and creating protective environments on college campuses. Maddy has a Bachelor of Arts in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is also currently pursuing a Master of Public Health as a Bloomberg Fellow at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
