Juneteenth Festival

Celebrate Juneteenth at Hyattsville Branch Library with a range of engaging activities! Take a self-guided tour of the Prince George's Room, participate in a genealogy discussion, play Juneteenth Bingo, and create a family photo frame or contribute to a community poster. Our celebration honors the values of freedom, family, and African American history. Registration is encouraged but not required!
Schedule of Events
1 pm
- Genealogy Discussion and presentation with music and videos.
2-4 pm
- Create a family photo frame or contribute to our Juneteenth community poster.
- Take a self-guided tour of the Prince George's Room which will display resources on local families' histories and library black history collections. Learn more about the Prince George's Room here.
3 pm
- Juneteenth Bingo! Play an exciting trivia-based version of Juneteenth bingo to test your knowledge and learn more.
The festival activities will take place in the Learning Lab, Art Room, and Prince George's Room. Some activities may take place on the front terrace, weather permitting.
