White House, American Library Association to Hold COVID-19 Pediatric Vaccination Public Education Event at PGCMLS

Dr. Cameron Webb will Hold Storytime, Vaccination Clinic with Young Readers

Hyattsville, MD - The American Library Association (ALA), in coordination with the Prince George’s County (MD) Memorial Library System, will hold a pediatric vaccination clinic and media event with Cameron Webb, MD, Senior Advisor to the White House COVID-19 Response. The event takes place weeks after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized a COVID vaccine for children six months and older, and at the height of Back-to-School season.

The event will highlight the role of public libraries in providing trusted information about COVID-19 vaccines to parents and families, particularly with younger children, the age group with the lowest vaccination rates. This message aligns with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ “We Can Do This” COVID-19 public education campaign, of which ALA is a partner organization.

All members of the media must RSVP to Liz Voyles at liz@brassrc.com to be admitted. The speakers will take questions from journalists.
