Reopening

Library Expands Hours and Services

The Library expanded its hours and services on September 27, 2021, as part of ongoing reopening efforts. The Library now open two nights a week, offers 1-5 pm Sunday hours at nine branch locations, and has reopened public meeting room reservations. Passport services also resumed November 1.  

Health and Safety Guidelines

PGCMLS will continue to require facemasks and physical distancing at its facilities until further notice, regardless of vaccination status. Continued safety measures will continue: plexiglass shields at service desks, hand sanitizer dispensers, and single use keyboard and mouse covers.

New Hours 

  • Monday: 10 am to 6 pm
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: 12 to 8 pm
  • Thursday and Friday: 10 am to 6 pm
  • Saturday: 10 am to 5 pm
  • Sunday: 1 to 5 pm (Select branches only: Beltsville, Greenbelt, Fairmount Heights, Glenarden, Laurel, New Carrollton, Oxon Hill, South Bowie, and Spauldings branch libraries)

*Presently available at 14 locations

Indoor, in-person programs presented by PGCLMS remain suspended until further notice for the protection of children who are not yet eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and in consideration of current local COVID-19 metrics. Ready 2 Read centers also remain closed.
