Computer Basics

Monday Class

New to using computers? This class for adults will introduce you to some basic computer terminology and lead you through practice activities to help you develop your digital literacy skills.

Join us in a 4 week course where participants will be able to:

• Identify basic computer components and operating system features
• Execute basic mouse techniques
• Perform basic keyboard strokes and functions
• Identify and navigate the features of the Desktop
• Open and exit software programs
• Identify and navigate the various toolbars of the Windows environment
• Create and save a document to the Desktop or to a flash drive (please bring your own flash drive)

Four-week series every Monday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The first four week series will be from April 22nd – May 13th. There will be a two week break before the second Monday four week series begins on June 3rd.

Week 1: April 22nd — Hardware & Mouse Skills Practice

Week 2: April 29th — Software & Keyboard Practice

Week 3: May 6th — File Management

Week 4: May 13th — Internet & Email
