From Shanghai to Harlem (5 minutes) - Director: Sylvia Wong Lewis
A Harlem born and Brooklyn raised woman explores her Black and Chinese, Southern and Caribbean family's immigration story.

Sylvia Wong Lewis is a journalist, educator, and artist whose passion for genealogy and history led her to become a filmmaker at 60 years old. The Smith College graduate is Harlem born and Brooklyn raised. 

Rethink (4 mins) - Director: Shree Ruttala 
A young student encourages us to consider the link between advanced technology and food waste — and to work to make a difference.

Rising 10th grader Shree Ruttala is a Prince George’s County Schools student who won several awards in science and in the county Spelling Bee. He loves environmental arts and music.

Louise Fleming is a Filmmaker/Videographer/Media Consultant who focuses on Experimental/Nonfiction short form. She is the Previous Co-President/Curator of Women’s Screening Series CineWomen NY [CWNY].

Moderator KJ Mohr is a professional film curator and educator with three decades of experience. KJ teaches in the MFA Filmmaking program at the Maryland Institute College of Art and in the Film and Video Studies Department at George Mason University.
