LITERACY THROUGH COMICS presents the first Comic Con in Prince George’s County. FREE! Limited to 100 registrants! Celebrate National Comic Book Day by attending this historic Comic Con!
Call Accokeek Library at 301-292-2880 to register! Proposed as a 4-H youth service learning project, Literacy Through Comics (LTC) was developed by a comic book fan who wanted to encourage reading by showcasing how rich in literacy comic books and graphic novels are. Highlights of the LTC Comic Con include panel discussions, activities for kids, Pop Culture Trivia for Teens, Webcomics workshop for Teens, hands-on comic book workshops by ART WAY ALLIANCE, cosplay and a costume contest. We are asking each person to donate a new family-friendly (ages 5-14) comic book or graphic novel for our book drive to support the Summer Reading Program at the Freedom School. Questions? Register in advance or in-person at the Accokeek Branch or call 301-292-2880. This is an event for all ages.
